The Finnhorse is the national horse breed of Finland. The Studbook was established in 1907. There are currently around 20,000 Finnhorses in Finland. It is said that they can pull as much as 200% of their body weight! They are used in show jumping, dressage, eventing, combined driving, endurance riding, equestrian tourism, equine therapy and draught work. Average height is: 155 cm. They come in a wide range of colors.
There are four sections in the breed: A lighter trotter type, a versatile riding horse, a heavier working horse and a proportionally smaller pony-sized horse.
