The Pottoka is a small yet resilient horse breed native to the Basque Country in the Pyrenees Mountains. Thought to have inhabited this region since the Paleolithic Age, the Pottoka holds a significant place in local history and traditions. Standing at an average height of 124 centimeters, these sturdy horses are typically black or dark brown and develop thick winter coats to withstand the harsh mountain climate.
