More rare than a Giant Panda, this critically endangered draft horse is a true living treasure.
The Suffolk Horse, also known as the Suffolk Punch, is one of the oldest and rarest draft breeds, originating in England. These powerful yet calm horses were bred for farm work such as ploughing and pulling loads, their chestnut color—a defining trait—comes in seven traditional shades as per the breed standard. Standing between 16 to 17 hands tall, the Suffolk is known for its strength, responsiveness, and distinctive history. Despite their dwindling numbers due to mechanization, dedicated breeders have championed their survival. Today, they are critically endangered but remain cherished for their versatility and fun nature.
