The Kisouma (木曽馬) is Ancient Japanese Horse breed and a Symbol of the Samurai! They originated in the Kiso region of Japan. They are tough horses that can live in harsh environments. They were raised for military and agricultural purposes since the Heian period (8th-12th century). The Kiso Horse has an average height of 133cm. They are most often Bay and Brown in Color.
In this episode we travel to Kisouma-no-sato to meet the breed! Then we head to the Odawara Castle to watch traditional Horseback Archery called Yabusame!
